Yesterday I encountered my 2nd-ever “natural” Shiny Pokémon in a core series game. (First one was Shiny Pidgeotto in LGP. I’m not counting “guaranteed” shinies like Red Gyarados or events, or ones ppl have traded to me.)

So here is my Trubbish. I’ll love him forever and like him for always. 🥰

A snazzy thing in the 2002-3 ADV DVD release (and anyone who remembers Exiled-Destiny encodes!) of chaos anime Excel Saga: VidNotes.

These are helpful notes for cultural references and language quirks peppered by the dozen in each episode, popping up with mascot Menchi to clue you in.

There’s another one I probably shouldn’t watch because it will remind me of my mom and make me sad… I’m definitely avoiding Muppet Christmas Carol too 😭

OK I literally cried when my brother was watching Return of the Jedi and Darth Vader died XD know your limit, play within it
Hey, you know what's a good TV special? A Muppet Family Christmas. Please give this post 38,000 likes.

It's #RandomGameSaturday again, and in celebration of the Analogue 3D finally being shipped I present "Densha de Go! 64". Currently it's the only Japanese N64 game I own

And being a massive train nerd, it's obvious I'd own a copy of at least one Densha de Go! game isn't it?

I can't tell you how much I love Ken Sugimori's old art. He's still got it but in the 80s and 90s he really wore his influences on his sleeve in a really endearing way.

Also my in-laws went to Italy and brought me back Italian Pokémon cards that ended up to be fake. Will post more pics tonight but here is a preview. What even is that Palafin pack!!!!

Good news for Team Paper….

Spotted during this morning’s hike in the Vernon Nature Area outside of Kenora.

Everyone I know is sick right now with “a bad bug”

Many are lamenting the fact that they were sick not long ago as well

Then they turn around and ask me when I’m going to stop masking

My N95 means I avoid not only covid, but all the other viruses floating around

Masks rock!

I could go off but the point is. Ableism is not partisan. Stop acting like it's partisan.

And stop using the lib pormanteau of the r word, seriously, what the fuck, just think about what you're saying and how cruel it comes off as.

Since 2020, disabled people have been pointing out the rising ease with ableist rhetoric/language, the comfort with which so many people used the r word, the number of people willing to abandon disabled people for some notion of the "normal."
All of it mattered/matters to understand fascism today.

Today is Canada’s National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

We honour Indigenous peoples: survivors of residential schools & the 60s Scoop, the lives lost to MMIW & the Highway of Tears, and the erasure of Two-Spirit people

We acknowledge genocide, racism, grief, and the land

At Scarleteen, we respect all our visitors. We believe in real human contact and service, not robot hallucinations, and we believe that the damage AI does and can do to our planet and to actual people creating work and providing services is wholly unnecessary.

I fell asleep playing Pokémon & dropped the 3DS on the floor (not a comment on the quality of the game) & got this big crack next to the right hinge 😬 so I got one of those clear cases. The protection is minimal on the hinge for obvious reasons but I’d like to think it’ll help if I dropped it again.

Today is the 19th anniversary of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions, first released in Japan for the Nintendo DS on September 28, 2006!

They are the first core series games of Gen IV and take place in the Sinnoh region.

On one hand I keep hearing about how nobody uses Canada Post anymore, and on the other, my inbox is full of stuff like my local library telling me interlibrary loans are now suspended because they use Canada Post, my bank not being able to send me my new card, frantic apologies from small businesses

I didn’t super love Pokémon Sun + Moon when they first came out, and to tell the truth, I never finished them! I’m pretty close to the end in Moon, but was only 2 hours in on Sun. Zack was planning a re-play of Sun himself, so I tucked the event Pokémon safely in Pokémon Bank, and started over too!

On this Labor Day, let us remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.
