In the richest city on Earth, 40% of NYC families can’t afford weekly food costs, and food prices are up 33% over the past decade.

It’s time for a city government that puts affordability at the top of the agenda.

In a profession where the most prominent journalists are increasingly jockeying for position on the best-seller lists and talk show circuits, you'd think one of them would've figured out that punching the bully back would be the most effective way to distance themselves from the pack.
while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

Donald Trump called for the murder of members of Congress, but you know what‘s really murder on the economy? Mamdani’s economic policies, am I right? Today in the New York Times
The New York Times' story about Trump calling for the execution of members of Congress ran on Page 16 today, with an itty-bitty promo on the front about halfway down the page.
No wonder Trump thinks he can get away with anything.

Johnson seems really upset that other politicians are reminding people about the solemn oaths they swore to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Huh. I wonder why that seemed to hit such a nerve for a self-proclaimed Christian who violates his own oath daily.

This is a good line and the key point to be amplifying:

"What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law."

Keep shining a bright light on Trump's violent lawlessness.
Good. Dems not backing down in the slightest in the face of Trump's call for their execution. Keep this up, Dems. Treat Trump like *he's* the violent criminal and the real threat to our Constitution order. Because he is.

The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

Have to appreciate how fitting it is that Democrats' warning about Trump abusing his position to command the military to take illegal action prompted him to abuse his position by demanding that they be tried for capital crimes.

Trump’s “healthcare” plan will bankrupt and kill millions of Americans.

We can eliminate the private insurance industry, and save $650B per year with Medicare for All — which would cover everyone, save families money, and include dental, vision, hearing, prescriptions and longterm care.

Senate Dems bungled the deal (especially the messaging on it) but the House Oversight Dems basically saved the day with the Epstein email dump.

I still think they could've waited a bit longer, but yeah, there was never a great resolution here and it's turned out much better than I thought.
i think ppl who thought the Ds were making a mistake by reopening the government - myself included - probably need to take the L at this point.
