The #1 reason that Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022 was to stop Ukraine from succeeding as a capitalist democracy with real freedom and prosperity for their people.

If Ukraine achieved what Poland achieved before them, then this would have led to revolution in Russia within a decade.

Honestly think this is more important even than Putin’s vanity project… nations that have freed themselves of Soviet occupation, that now have better living standards, are a direct rebuke of everything Putin claims, and as said below, would eventually likely lead to domestic upheaval in Russia.

🧵While ICE is nabbing innocent 4-year-olds, DHS allowed a suspect in the largest jewelry heist in US history to self-deport to South America in December.

Prosecutors were planning to try the case and send him to prison, but DHS gave him a free flight out instead.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.

I’d hate to fight the Finns. They’re formidable to the extreme.

As an aside, I reckon Finnish soldiers have amongst the best field gear in the world, manufactured by a Finnish company, Savotta.

The quality and functionality of Savotta’s gear for Finland’s military are, well, magnificent.
“Exercise commanders had to ask Finnish reservists, the most formidable Arctic warriors, who were playing the role of invaders in the war games, to go easy on the Americans,” the source said. “The Finns had to be told to stop beating the Americans as it was embarrassing and demoralising for them.”
