"Now not only scientists, but also politicians, are beginning to see the possibility of dual use of bogs to achieve two goals of the European Union – improving resilience and slowing climate change."

We have an unlimited potential for bog restoration on the Eastern Flank.

Bogs on guard of Europe. New NATO weapon
Experiences from the war in Ukraine have shown that wetlands can be a valuable ally in the fight against Russia. Bogs create terrain impassable for hostile forces. At the same time they are an ally in...

The smaller crafts and rafts are cheap to rent. I had an outboard engine boat on rental a few times on the Pielinen Lake but it felt clunky, heavy and used a lot of gasoline.

Three 25 litre tanks on a two-day trip. 1500 kilometers range in my hybrid car. Guess why the oil business is so lucrative?

FAQ: Why are we not using electricity in recreational boating?

It's because the motor boats are designed to go fast.

If you don't want to pay for the excessive gasoline costs, have a reliable, quiet 'yachting' experience and get upper-body workouts while fishing - row or paddle.

"As a result, the city bus market is shifting much faster to zero-emission than what is required under the EU’s Clean Vehicle Directive and the CO2 standards for trucks and buses. At this growth rate, city buses are on track to reach fully ZE sales by 2027."

Let's at least mention it
aarnegranlund.bsky.social

Sammalet roikkui puiden oksilla.
"Kunnostettua" ojaa. Uutta ojaa suolla. Sammalet puiden oksilla.

It's always a good day to become an opportunavore, where you gradually change your diet to what is the most affordable, convenient and delicious. If you can greatly reduce beef and pork, the planet and your wallet will thank you.

"Nearly half (49%) of all new EU city buses were zero-emission (ZE) in 2024, making city buses one of the early success stories of the European Green Deal."

Ever heard of that before?

Ask not how many cars you can power with solar power instead of biofuels, but how e-buses, trains, and e-bikes can move people affordably in a clean grid.

The system that we broke is the nature system that supports human society and all life. This breaking causes other system failures.

Renewing AND BELIEVING IN our relationship with intact functioning nature systems is the only way we get out of our current crises.

No miksei samalla maakuntalennot, turkistarhaus, ravit, autoinfran ulkoiskustannukset, suo-ojitus, ja kaikki muutkin suomalaisen kulttuurin erikoisuudet markkinaehtoisiksi.

It might be speculative, but e-bikes are beginning to compete with cars (also BEVs) if the infrastructure exists.

Why would I pay for ten times the dealership price, repair and maintenance, and a hundred times the fuel costs when the e-bike has almost the same utility?

Did you know the first thanksgiving celebrated by Europeans in North America happened in Canada?
Or that the Indigenous celebrated autumn harvests long before Europeans arrived?
Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving a month earlier than the United States?
This is the story.

The table is decorated with pumpkins, sunflowers, candles, and autumnal flowers, with wine glasses and plates set for a meal.
