96 immigration judges purged by the Trump admin include "all 10 that appeared on the DHS Bureaucrat Watch List, a website created...with funding from The Heritage Foundation, whose Project 2025 was a blueprint for the Trump admin’s policies and personnel decisions."

Heritage is fascist trash.
Migrants thought they were in court for a routine hearing. Instead, it was a deportation trap
The nation's immigration courts have undergone a fundamental change under the administration of President Donald Trump.

"a single person of this demographic may have committed a crime, therefore we must punish the entire demographic" is a policy response you may recognize from fascist governments dedicated to ethnic cleansing elsewhere.

The key term here is "tool of the antichrist"
In newly leaked audio, Peter Thiel admits he urged JD Vance to ignore Pope Leo XIV on moral questions — including the ethical development of AI.

He goes even further, branding Leo “the woke American pope” and suggesting he’s a tool of the Antichrist.

In a leaked lecture, Peter Thiel says he’s urged Vance to ignore the pope on moral questions — and simply pray for him.

Over the past nine months, the Trump administration has fired almost 90 immigration judges seen by Trump’s allies as too lenient, directed masked officers to handcuff migrants at closed asylum hearings and sent memos instructing judges to fall into line.

Evergreen: there has never been and never will be a credible Trump/GOP Congress plan to repeal & replace the ACA. The only plan has always been repealing/deeply cutting the ACA coverage expansions & cutting rest of #Medicaid to help pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. That’s what HR 1 did this summer.

The benefits created by the ACA go well beyond subsidized plans in the individual market and Medicaid expansion.

@louisenorris.bsky.social has a list of 50 distinct populations that benefit from ACA provisions. This is real! Check it out.
50 populations whose lives are better thanks to the ACA
Millions of Americans would have worse health insurance – or none at all – without Obamacare's provisions. But the law's protections extend beyond insurance benefits.

And Trump's shadow proposal (as dribbled out in various news reports) was skillful in a perverse way: it has perhaps just enough poison pills, or not-quite-poison pills, to make it hard for Democrats to reject.

Trump's proposal for renewing the enhanced ACA subsidies was pretty bad.

But it was too good for Republicans in Congress (and surprisingly targeted and substantive, considering the source).

RIP Jimmy Cliff.
This is in my personal top 3 lyrics anywhere:

Did you ever have to laugh
When you felt like crying,
Who feels it knows it.

Did you ever have to live
When you felt like dying,
Who feels it knows it.

Impediments to coverage in Trump's alleged ACA plan:
- minimum premiums (-4% enrollment?)
- end silver loading (-2%?)
- require proof income over 100% FPL (-... a lot?)
- 700% FPL cap (- 1%)?
Harsh side effects in Trump's ACA prescription

The ill effects of Long Trump
We have seen & heard enough from RFK Jr. for me to confidently predict the Long COVID Consortium will

- be driven by pseudoscience & lie
- spend a disproportionate amount of time on post-vaccination syndromes, &
- promote fringe treatments that have poor evidence or are known to cause harm
It's now been over two months, and we still don't have any updates from the federal government on RFK Jr.'s Long COVID Consortium. During the meeting the head of ARPA-H stated they would have plans within "weeks".

Republican willingness to cross Trump could be double-edged. His nascent proposal was already poison-pilled. It will get worse, unless he just says 'fuck it' and pushes for more or less clean subsidy extension.
