Shocking twist, there is actually some debate about whether the testosterone dose was too high. Overall the kid seems to be doing better with it than without it.

J’s blood was assessed by Dr Russell Keenan, a consultant paediatric haematologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, who advised that the results were effectively normal when compared to reference points relevant to an adult male (which Dr Keenan considered was the appropriate comparison in this case). The testosterone treatment had had a positive impact in building J’s confidence and reducing anxiety.

Facebook lied about video view counts to pump up numbers. I think if people are using instagram, they're not actually getting accurate numbers--similar to how people are not getting actual engagement on twitter.

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell. And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'" The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads: "Tweepcred is X's reputation system Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score It determines your reach Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked." SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation. Why not just make it possible for people to live their lives the way they live it? feed all the kids at school a hot nutritious lunch even if their daddy rich and their momma good looking. Let everybody go to the doctor free at point of use because wealth taxes cover it. budget so the bus is free.

This is honestly probably the part of this wretched phenomenon that consistently chills me the most

The evil schmucks are evil schmucks. But then there’s the way every other institution that likes to spin flattering stories about themselves willingly plays along
Much more important than whether this particular mediocre young person succeeds, and considerably more worrying, is how easy it all is, and how smooth and efficient the process is through which all this noise and damage is manufactured-how simple the culture has made it for someone with nothing but themselves on their mind to hurt someone they think they might benefit from hurting, and how eagerly and unquestioningly this daisy chain of apparatchiks and opportunists and independent operators and actual elected officials will apply themselves to that work.
