I hope my works reflect that.

2. "Pick up those bags and move it.” He ordered, and only when Florence nodded did Mulcair obey
3. Clenching his fists, he hurried after Florence, letting her lead the way.

Since becoming a parent I have not, in fact, understood the parents who say “if you were a parent you’d understand” about vaccine hesitancy. Being in charge of this fragile little miracle has me saying things like “give her all the vaccines. Turn this baby into a pincushion” to doctors

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Anyone want to throw me like $15 on Paypal for a sketchy drawing (at about this level of completion) in this style? I'm stressing today and just wanted to get some takeout. Comment to grab, I'll draw just about any critter/monster/furry/humanoid.

My good friend @itsjessandart.bsky.social is going through tough things, right now. That's why I had decided last month to donate 10% of my sales for December to support Jess. Because that's what friends do, in my opinion.

These are the books and the link is in my bio.

Today's WIP research note

During WW1, China supplied laborers to the allies, but in order to ship the Chinese Labour Corp to the warzone of Europe, they had to be shipped secretly across Canada via trains because their was a $500 HEAD TAX on immigration from China.

One of the cruelest tricks society played on creative people was planting the idea that being proud of your work is somehow unseemly and egotistical.

You made a thing! You like it! You SHOULD be proud of it. Brag all you want!

I tend to write niche genre books....

So let's say this latest wip is a subtly queer romance told in the trenches of an alternated-reality od WW1.

Yeah... this is gonna be a fun one to explain...

Another fascinating Fact I learned today, thanks to my WIP.

In 1917, the U.S. War Industries Board asked women to stop buying corsets to free up metal for war production. There had already been a Crosby Bra, and the preservation of material evolved into the Fabric Bra of today.

This is so Fascinating, how such simple items progressed.

Technology and scarcity drove change in so many subtle ways we don't notice outright.

Holy Crap, I've GOT IT

I know where history diverged in my latest literary WIP

In my Work-In-Progress, the Invasion of Tanga, AKA The BATTLE OF THE BEES was viewed as sorcery by the British, who in kind recruited sorcerers of their own to give them an edge.

Canada has just lost measles elimination status. The U.S. will undoubtedly follow shortly.

Elimination means that there is no continuous spreading of measles within the country for a year or longer.

Canada and the U.S. have blown it, and it’s largely the fault of the anti-vaccination movement.
Canada loses measles elimination status after three decades, health agency says

UPDATE: Canada has announced that it has lost its measles elimination status.

This is a direct result of the increase in anti-vax disinformation, which has caused large, sustained outbreaks in the country over the last year.

Realistically? Build community networks. Research local charities. Learn low cost food recipes and make physical copies. See what services your library offers. Consider access to media, including physical. Find a rec center. Greet your neighbors, borrow things if you can. Learn local tenant laws.
if you were wondering how to prepare for a recession, the advice on the internet is “have a lot of liquid savings” and “don’t lose your job” 👍 very helpful, who could have predicted “having money saved” and “having income” would help a situation

Hummingbirds in jewel-tones perfectly suited to low-G. Head size flowers in all the colors of the rainbow. Dragonflies like sequined darning needles above lily-pads gene-geneered to sparkle in the tiny artificial sun above. Everything is color, and movement, and brightness. Life among the Black.
When terraforming an asteroid, you have a blank slate to build a tiny new world. Later, low-income orbital housing will be built here, or community homes for interplanetary travel, but first you have control. What flora and fauna do you coax to life on this rock?

I'm nonbinary, and just released my debut novel this week! It's about an adult woman who gets trapped in a video game with a sword who talks to her. It also has an entirely queer cast, and features at least one (1) big gay sword fight.

It's also completely free!
