Going to shamelessly use this to remind people that if you’d like a historian who is also a writer and narrative designer to bring some of these perspectives to your game, then in the new year I’m available for work
Made my day to read this great post and see this!

You couldn't make Skeleton Lords today.

What would happen is you would finish killing all the skeletons and the health bar would go away and then there would be a cutscene and you immediately get oneshotted by phase 2 because you can't know what kind of attack they are charging.

Vampires would experience time differently than a mortal, years passing in the blink of an eye.

For a vampire, time is infinite and free. It is worthless.

So why don't they ever show vampires using linux?

Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

So, real talk. The imposter syndrome never really goes away either, it's like an old chronic injury that flares up again and gets really bad at certain times of the year, or if you've strained yourself. It creeps back when you don't expect it, and it's hard not to hear that little voice get louder.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Labyrinth of the Demon King is so good.

Top notch level design. The exploration feels really good and satisfying. Perfectly disgusting art style.
