You know what - the more I think about it, the more this absolute banter result at the next election seems underpriced. If the Caerphilly style result ends up happening everywhere at the same time. It'd be hilarious & you read it predicted here first!
What would be hilarious is it Labour continue to collapse, but people still turn out in droves for "Not Farage" & we end up with a Lib Dem-Green led government. Given the way Reform councils are performing, and that they can't defend a by-election, I'm not sure if I'm even joking.

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

How about we replace him with ChatGPT instead of banning it? Would anyone even realise it'd happened?
mister Keir Starmer sir everyone hates you anyway just ban ChatGPT and Twitter and then resign, it's not like it's going to get better anyway, do this for the greater good

Come back when you've organised enough to form a labour movement. You need basic class consciousness to carry out a revolution. Now tell me how many Americans would even admit to being working class, let alone organise around the principle of Fraternité?

Government has today published its consultation into "earned settlement", the forward alone contains a hot mess of misrepresentation of the current system by the Home Secretary. I would strongly urge anyone affected by the current system to respond.

Mahmood really is a disingenuous nasty piece of work. Look, people don't risk their child's life crossing the channel to boost their own claim. Mahmood's own policies of restricting family reunion does mean more children will be making channel crossings though.

a side note, but "Keir Starmer vowed to curb net migration...migrants to wait as long as 10 years to apply to settle in the UK instead of automatically gaining settled status after five years." there IS NO AUTOMATIC SETTLING! this is *not a thing that exists*, @andrewgregory.com. Labour made that up
The predictable knee jerk incompetence of this government. Instead of addressing the material problems in people lives they scapegoat immigration and make the material problems worse. 50k nurse could quit the UK!

tfw when: you've got your 2nd year seminar group doing a SWOT analysis on the Greens, you're talking about possible attack lines that might be used against Zack Polanski, and it becomes clear that none of them has heard of this story, so (now you've mentioned it) you have to explain it to them.😱🥵
Polanski apologises over claim he can increase women’s breast sizes with his mind
Several Labour MPs have criticised the new Green Party leader over the claims, with one describing them as ‘grim’

A thing that I remember vividly from GE2015 is when you'd knock on the door of a never-gonna-be-hit-by-the-mansion-tax house that was never going to be hit by a mansion tax who really thought their house's inflated price meant it might be close to it. Turns out that has spread to officials!
I sometimes feel like I am going mad.

Owning a £1.5m home is not normal in London or the South East of England.

To everyone in 2019 who told me I should vote Labour, to keep the Tories from being too racist - care to comment on the current government?

(I voted Lib Dem & still got a Labour MP - but was thoroughly dogpiled online)

for comparison (and it's not a direct comparison): when my wife arrived here at the start of 2016, they added a third language test but you only had to do it if you'd arrived within 6 months of it being introduced. expanding that out to "major rules can change inside of a 5 year period" is very bad
The government is announcing changes to indefinite leave to remain ahead of its consultation on these measures. Some changes will apply to those in the UK now who gave arrived in the last 4-5 years

The British government just did something I agree with, and it feels almost gross to mention it. Also: who invented the week? And some Beeching-themed maps.

This government doesn't actually seem to believe in anything, that's why they can U-turn like Boris Johnson. They're just as intellectually hollow. Say what you want about Blair or Thatcher or even Cameron - you knew where they stood

What surprises me most here is how Farage never got his head, or at least his ankles kicked in at school if everyone agrees this is how he behaved. Is it only my circles who've got a story of just violence violently if they've got a story of racist bullies. Even in public school.
Some of the people in this article have shared their recollections with me before - but on condition of anonymity. Coming forward now is an act of patriotism. Farage’s claim that it never happened is the opposite.
(Note also the line about pronouncing his name.)

Not sure how Labour can fully square the circle between admitting that Reform's proposals to deport children are racist, but their plans for deport children, even if born and raised in the UK, are "fair and compassionate".
