Much ink has been spilled to the effect of "trans girl spinny skirt cringe" but I don't think people realize how demandingly rigid the rituals of forced masculinity are. I was screamed at for wearing the "wrong colored" shoes. Let trans women be girls, most were not allowed to be.
One of the great things about being a trans woman is giving yourself permission to finally like cute things that weren't "socially acceptable" to enjoy before.

The conservative rhetoric around protecting women makes more sense once you understand that victims exist purely as a hypothetical for them. Once a victim actually claims the label, they become a threat. This is also why they prefer dead women to living victims.

As someone who has reported on deepfakes for years now, I’ve had a few moments while reporting on Grok where I feel sick to my stomach thinking about the continued escalation of sexual abuse with this technology and where it’s going. We’re not ready for this. And it didn’t have to be this way.

As someone who was really into gaming from the early 90s I had rather a fraught relationship with gamers. Gamergate just cemented how incredibly toxic so many of them were to the point where I basically stopped engaging with any of them I didn't already know and trust. It was so extreme.
This. Gamergate is the skeleton key to understanding just how fundamentally antisocial the right is.
I think a lot of people who weren't online and involved in dealing with channers/Gamergate etc. haven't understood until now how deeply depraved the right is
