Labour are making it worse. As far as I'm concerned they're a right wing party now who are dragging us further into the shit like all the ones before. Working for capital, not people.
Right, but the key thing is that their concern about it is not actually going to be improved by doing anything about immigration. There's no fix that could work because the problem isn't immigration.

Remember when opponents of PR would cynically argue that "but the far right would win seats, so we have to stick with FPTP"? I wonder how those guys are feeling rn when they look at polling.
Labour could have mitigated this but introducing electoral reform, proportional representation, but of course they don't want to do that because, like the Tories, they want complete control with only 30% of the vote. So we will have to suffer because working with the Greens/SNP etc. is anathema.
They're concerned about immigration because liars in both politics and media tell them that's the threat. Anything but the truth; that it's the wealthy and powerful.

Lord Hodge of the Supreme Court. Goodness knows how he squares these positions. How can he criticise Lord Sumption whilst himself, as I read it, do worse himself because he's still a judge? supremecourt.uk/uploads/spee... and www.scottishlegal.com/articles/lor....

People ask why queers are all leftist, or why they are distrustful of straight people. But like... straight people cant come to a consensus on a choice between a sex pest and a brown man. Authoritarian Capitalism or Democratic Socialism. Sure, not all straight people... but like... half of them!

The power of our vote

Let's show Labour this in May, and every election until then.
This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said β€œwe should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.
I moved here in the middle of the Blair government.
In the UK it's clearly accepted to be far worse to be accused of being a bigot than being the victim of bigotry. I think that says a lot about those in power. Both political and social power.
And again I'm complaining about a two tier justice system that favours racists, not that this law wasn't used against him. You're hitting a strawman.
No, I think anti terror laws are a political weapon that they wield against their enemies and selectively let off their allies. I don't think this ruling will in any way affect future rulings against journalists and protesters.
They were progressive? That might have been before I moved to the UK then.
You should be upset that it's primarily white nationalists who will get this special treatment rather than those laws being dismantled, yes.

The government has announced yet another proposed anti-protest law: a new criminal offence of protesting outside the home of someone in public office "where their intention is to influence them in their role or an aspect of their private life", with a maximum sentence of 6 months’ imprisonment.

Zohran was polling at six percent in January. Nothing is impossible
Only if you assume the justice system is fair and consistent.
Bold of you to assume they had any to begin with.
