I’m picking up some new friends from the latest Twitter exodus, so I should reintroduce myself.

I’m Emi! I live in Houston, TX. I write sometimes but mostly I cook, swear, and hang out with my awesome husband and my two ridiculous cats. I also talk about movies and tv a lot. Y’all means all.
I live in Turner’s old district. Somehow they’ve managed to dilute my vote even further than being an urban Texan already had.

Yet I show up to vote every fucking election like Lucy is offering me a football. No one ever tell me we can vote our way out of this shit ever again.
BREAKING: Supreme Court sides with Texas Republicans in fight over congressional map. The new gerrymandered map will be used in the 2026 midterms. The vote is 6–3, with the Republican appointees siding with Texas.

Supreme Court openly keeping the Republican Party in power is not surprising given their corruption, but it just reinforces the illegitimacy of the entire US federal government.

Burn it down.

I played Hades 2 so hard I broke my controller lol. Hopefully temporary, but my buttons are getting stuck so bad I couldn’t stop rushing. I can’t even get it to the Switch home screen. Oops. Hopefully a little break will fix it, if not, I have a spare controller somewhere

Frog knocked at Toad’s door. “Toad, wake up,” he cried. “Come out and see how wonderful the winter is!”

“I will not,” said Toad. “I am in my warm bed.”

Increased the pace on my workout again today, made a healthy lunch, did all of my laundry, worked on next week’s meal plan and hit the fucking wall. Fucking energy. Why have you once again forsaken me!?
Very pleased with myself today. I finally broke through the Thanksgiving fatigue, kept my heart rate in target my whole workout, scheduled some follow ups I’ve been putting off for weeks, and roasted a chicken! Energy! It’s very cool to have!

Waiting for the grocery store ad to post at midnight like I’m waiting for tickets to go on sale

Excited for this! Tony McNamara clearly loves writing for Nicholas Hoult and they suit each other very well

I was very proud of myself for building an interchange with roundabouts in Cities: Skylines, and then a splitting freeway! Very cool! Then I zoomed out.

I should call her.

Guys, she was beautiful. And then I ate her. I love learning a skill like this. It’s insanely versatile and all attempts have come out awesome, but also better each time. Perfect for a girl like me who thrives on positive reinforcement!

I read a Bon Appetit article that said it’s good to make room for a little air between the chicken and the veggies. Behold! My rig!

I really overdid it Thanksgiving week and I am so fucking tired. STILL! I know this fatigue can last up to two years after chemo, but I’m frustrated! I just want to put this behind me and any setbacks make me want to scream! I know I need to be patient but I don’t wanna!!!

Oh! I also decided to brush the skin with butter this time instead of trying to get the butter under the skin cause that was really hard last time and the butter didn’t melt out - it stayed where I put it so there were two really buttery bites lol. Learning!
Gonna roast another chicken this week. This time I’m going up the ante by putting the veggies underneath it to soak up some juices.

Talamasca is so fucking bad I am in pain. William Fichtner can’t even fix this.
Why would you hire an American actress, most famous for playing the only American on Downton Abbey, and ask her to do the most bizarre British accent? I can’t even tell which one she’s trying for

I have a second awful lip sore in less than a month! Once again on the top lip where the bow is and where it looks worst and hurts most. I was supposed to get them with chemo but I never did. Maybe it’s a lingering side effect? Those can happen for months after.

It is wrong that this man shares a name with Brian Johnson of AC/DC. One who thinks he can live forever and one who drank aftershave. The coolness gap between the two might as well be infinite.
bryan johnson is proof you can't just fix people with estrogen. they have to be trans for it to work

Just in case anyone is passively suicidal like I used to be — you’re awesome and worth fighting for. I wish it hadn’t taken me a cancer diagnosis and a year of grueling treatment to realize that.
