Thank you new followers! RIGHT NOW the most important issue is fighting the incoming fascist regime of the Orange Felon. I follow all resistors, if you have no bio, no posts, and/or you're here for any other reason, I won't follow you (yet), maybe after we save Democracy. Thanks for understanding!

Come on! Ukraine and Europe must kick Trump/U.S. to the curb.

I totally agree with Kevin here, if Mr. Burns is going to do another documentary, it really must be about one of the most impactful issues of the past century, and that is the civil rights movement… our schools, do a poor job of teaching the truth about our racist past and present.
The Civil Rights Movement.

EYES ON THE PRIZE is solid, but over forty years old. There's been a lot of great work on the movement since then. And while EYES leaned heavily on interviews with participants, a new series could make use of that scholarship to get beyond the Montgomery-to-Memphis arc.
I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.

It’s their standard move and also the easiest thing in the world to disprove, so you’ve got to assume any interviewer who doesn’t correct them is pulling for Trump
I *hate* that interviewers have given up on even gentle pushback when Trump's people confidently assert that they inherited "an absolute economic mess" and therefore had no choice but to set about restructuring the entire U.S. economy

The Trump administration inherited an economy that the Economist called "the envy of the world" in a cover story a week before the election and easily could've coasted on that success (again) but instead they set it on fire.

Unless your job is to report specifically about what the @nytimes.com publishes, or are otherwise required to read it, then you shouldn't - it's fascist-complicit....don't give them your eyeballs. I trust Greg & a few others to keep me informed on the NYT, but I no longer read that trash-rag.
Utterly ludicrous framing from @nytimes.com here, treating Pete Hegseth's arguments as if they're legitimate. The casual reader will be left with no inkling whatsoever of how unusual and corrupt an abuse of the process this truly is:

Any time corporate executives are in a room together and don't know they're being recorded, the transcript is like: "Christ, I hate our customers. We're agreed that we all hate our customers? Let's lie to the IRS, criminally. Did I mention the Holocaust never happened? Put more lead in our soda."

"She had no problem being deep in the MAGA cult—pushing conspiracy theories, attacking people, doing Trump’s bidding—when it served her. When the movement was hot, she was all in. But now? The economy’s tanking, Trump’s radioactive because of the Epstein files, the corruption, the nonstop scandals.”

BREAKING: Trump to announce extension of ACA tax credits for two years. One option under discussion would limit subsidies to individuals earning up to 700% of the federal poverty level ($227,290 for a family of four), aligning with a bipartisan group of senators.

The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food.

The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of what are called "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.
