I am a really really good cook, if I may brag about one thing about myself. But for some reason, battering or breading food and frying it has always eluded me. I have never gotten it to work no matter how many methods and tips I have tried. 😂

Bob&Gina are getting peanuts with me right here!!! Bees have been landing on me when I get near their busy food pantry! The sparrows will sit in the roses while I am rose-sniffing!

A scrub jay can be seen through the flowers of Russian sage with my shadow just a foot away. I was sitting on the other side of the concrete blocks that you can see in the bottom left corner. Seriously very close to each other and after I stopped taking pictures, she darted in to take the peanut that is sitting in the shadow of my head.

Her companion up in the bird feeder just above my head and maybe three feet away?

I started Hungarian yellow and California red chili peppers THREE TIMES before any starts made it to transplant. And now, in October, after coaxing, fertilizing, weeding, and covering w/frost blankets the last two weeks, I HAVE PEPPERS. #Garden 🌱 #gardensky #GrowFood

Mine are refusing to turn red at this point, but my family has already eaten half of the canned green tomato salsa, so I guess green tomatoes are just fine! 🤣😂

Yes! Apples, blackberries, strawberries, and grapes. But unfortunately, we didn't really get apples this year. Not sure what happened. But we have about 2 gallons of grape jelly and about as much mixed berry, blackberry, and nectarine-blackberry jam!

If it wasn't for the garden and getting big boxes from the farm co-op every other month, we'd be in serious trouble.
Grateful for my husband indulging me in what was initially just a spurt of passion and is now a full-fledged food garden!
Basket is from a couple weeks ago but oh well! #Garden 🌱

A harvest basket from two or three weeks ago with carrots, radishes, burgundy beans, and lots of red tomatoes. Actually looking at it, it's only like a week and a half old cuz we just made the pickles with the radishes!

Our crop of purple potatoes this summer didn't do that well. But we did get SOME, and tonight we'll be eating them in a lovely beef stew. #Garden #gardensky #Homestead #Cooking

My adorable gray cat in the box that I had just barely moved. I knew the second he heard the sound of a box, he would be on his way to get in it!

Thank you. He was so cute. He sounded like one of those rubber chicken toys as he learned how and when to crow. He also fiercely protected his sister. I've been giving her extra love and treats today.

Well, we lost one to a dog and one to debris flying around during a storm. The other two are mysteries, though. If it happens again before spring, we'll save the body for a necropsy.

A photo of me at a summer fair in 2010 holding my niece. My skin is absolutely flawless which is weird because I didn't really take care of it at all back then. My grin is very Gap to and you can't see it but there's actually a tooth missing. Otherwise, my eyes look absolutely gorgeous and my hair isn't bad. I was 31 but I am telling you right now that if somebody saw this picture now they would probably guess 22/23 maybe 25 at most.

Me now with wild witchy hair and well-earned wrinkles around the eyes with bags under them because life is hard. But I still don't think most people would guess my correct age.
