We have a young Cooper's hawk that has been learning to hunt better. I missed getting a pic while he was on the back of my neighbor's swing, but he stayed up in this tree across from the smörgåsbord of sparrows and backyard chicken for hrs. He was HUNGRY. #Birds #predator 🪶 #NotMyChickens #hawk
An unfortunately blurry picture because my camera phone isn't great of a young but healthy hawk up at the top of a tree. He is in the middle of the image. When he first came around, he seemed either very very hungry or injured or sick because he was on the ground trying to rush under the bushes to eat. He is flying much better today so I am glad he got the food he needed when that happened. I just don't want it to be the birds I feed every day, you know?

Making more 🐔 feed. It utilizes leftovers (only if safe for them), produce going a wee bit off, scraps I don't feel like composting, excess 🥚🥚, and oatmeal. It's a great way to use food instead of wasting and will help supplement them, saving $$ on store feed. #BackyardChickens #save$ #gardensky
A bowl with chunks of bananas, blueberries that were going soft, oatmeal, Apple peels, and underneath are some carrots, chicken, and a few veggie scraps. I keep everything in the freezer until I am ready to blend it in my Ninja and then refreeze in little molds for ease of serving them later. Using a spoon to scoop the blended food into little silicone molds.
