The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.

And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.

No more.

The idiot speaker shouting “yield, man!” seems to have forgotten that one of the most formative events in our country’s history was the Americans’s outrage at the British military occupying Boston.

ICEblock, which allows users to alert others to the geographical location of ICE officers, is the top social networking app in the App Store right now after Karoline Leavitt condemned it from the podium yesterday.

Republicans have a trifecta, they should have passed this easily weeks ago. But even Republicans know it's terrible and deeply unpopular. We heard this morning some district office staffers are telling their GOP bosses that voting for this is will be a career killer.

Michael Lewis, who recently got egg all over his entire face re: believing the SBF con job, was the editor for a book in March called "Who Is Government." This seems like a wild question to ask for a man who got conned by maybe the most obvious con artist of all time.

It’s easy to doomscroll right now; I’m catching myself do that very thing. So here’s your reminder:

Take care of yourself, and practice self-care. Close the app if you need to, and do something else that you enjoy.

An MSNBC anchor just definitively claimed Padilla didn't identify himself when video clearly shows he did. So fucking irresponsible. This is how lies spread.

Not taking anything away from Senator Padilla because he was treated atrociously

But I JUST want to remind everyone that the Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, a Black woman, was just indicted for just asking questions at an ICE detention center in her state

Keep that same energy of support for her

"I am Senator Alex Padilla" is the first thing he says.

There is nothing the Trump Administration won't lie about.

Just so we're all clear: It's not a coincidence that the first senator they've used physical force against is Sen. Alex Padilla, a Latino man representing California.

Because Black people know that there is no such thing as “identification” or “identifying yourself”. They aren’t saying Padilla didn’t identify himself as a U.S. Senator. They are saying that there is only one acceptable identity — credential — being white and, in these times, being pro-Trump.

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

wow I wonder if the cops who lied about the sitting senator even though everything they did was on tape are also being less than honest about the presence of violent agitators at the protests in los angeles. they might even not have told the entire truth about other protests

🧵
NY-17 Rep. Mike Lawler had a local social worker physically dragged out of his town hall Sunday night.

Emily Feiner was singled out by private security, lifted out of her seat, as the crowd chanted “let her stay” and “shame, shame.”
She’s a constituent.
Not a threat.
Fascism again.

Anytime Trump says some bullshit I see a fair amount of despondent comments like "And like a third of the country will believe him" which is true but I think you just have to get past that. Like a third of the country believes in ghosts too, we don't need total consensus to win

Suffice to say this wasn’t exactly the campaign message!
Trump on China: "They made a trillion dollars with Biden selling us stuff. Much of it we don't need. Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open.' Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."

A reminder that if senate Republicans wanted to end the tariff issue they could do so whenever they choose.
Later today the Senate will vote on my bipartisan legislation to end Trump’s tariffs. This has a real chance of passing. I encourage everyone to make your voices heard with your Senators if you feel strongly about this issue. I’ll be working to get it across the finish line. More soon.
