This is a wonderful time to support journalists who do the work, don’t fuck sources, and actually have moral clarity.
i promise i don’t mean to high horse this but if you’re thinking about giving lizza ten bucks there are a lot of good independent journalists whose work you could subscribe to for a month instead

A reminder that the Twin Cities has some great small, independent movie theaters
1) Trylon Cinema (@trylon.org)
Formerly a 50-seat “microcinema” now double the size, the Trylon has by far the finest programming in town. Sad Japanese melodramas mix with 70s gorefests, French expressionism, classic film noir, and everything in between.

Time to remind everyone of this Guy Pearce interview where he says how Spacey targeted him for 5 months during the making of L.A. Confidential. You can hear his voice break. "I broke down and sobbed & I couldn’t stop. I think it really sort of dawned on me...I don’t want him to get away with it." 🎬

There are several replies pointing out how low that pay is, especially for NYC, and I'm once again realizing that people have no idea how shittily journalists are paid.

You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

Update:

Katie just called me. She is being held by Homeland Security at the Whipple Federal Building down by the airport.

They have not told her anything. No word on release, no word on charges. Nothing. Ridiculous. But she is fine and in good spirits.

Her attorney is en route there right now.
