Happy #BlackHistoryMonth !

Just wanted to share some quotes from one of my favorite Black, queer authors: Audre Lorde. She was such a prolific writer and activist. I highly recommend reading her poetry and essays.

#AudreLorde
Surprised no one on the TL is talking about how #Epstein is Q.

And how POL was he and Peter Thiel's experiment into ways they could successful disseminate alt right bullshit.

Derek is nicer than me.

I think Joe and Andrew are the same kind of folks figuring out that this is what they voted for...they just assumed their whiteness removed from the FAFO aspect of it lol
one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

Winter simmer pot:

Fresh apples & lemon slices
Cinnamon sticks
Whole cloves
Whole allspice
Bay leaves

And lavender and peppermint essential oil.

This has been my partner's favorite this winter!

Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

NEW: Mayor Mamdani is set to endorse Gov. Hochul’s reelection run this week, providing her a critical inroad with progressive voters, per four sources.

It deals a near fatal blow to Antonio Delgado's campaign.

Fighting fascism requires a realistic analysis of power and force. The right-wing shouldn't feel they can reward their killers and motivate others to kill for them without any consequences. I wrote about the importance of unrelenting actions for @prismreports.org.

Another way out: Power, force, and far-right rewards for killing
The far-right’s celebration of killing and the state’s complicity in it show that violence is one of America’s sustaining forces

super interesting. walton is a democratic socialist who beat the incumbent in the 2021 democratic primary for mayor of buffalo but was defeated in the general by a big money write-in campaign.
Today, I am proud to announce India Walton as my running mate in our campaign to become the next Governor and Lieutenant Governor of New York.

It’s important to keep in mind the existence of a lot of antipathy toward D.C. specifically, and its limited capacity to protect itself because of its relationship to the federal government.
With the closing of the Kennedy Center and the cuts at the Post, the Washington, DC metro area has lost its biggest arts institution and of its largest local journalism outlet.

Tomorrow I'm seeing my bestie for the first time since before XMAS. I am so excited. I need to run by Hallmark and get her a pretty bag to put her gift in.

I also wanted to grab her a gift card to a local coffee place around where she lives!

yes! And I think mistakes should always be something we can work through. (but one has to be willing to consider the possibility that one has made a mistake instead of sending people to harass the women who are questioning what you did.)
I think a lot of white US people are being exposed to revolutionary thoughts and methods for the first time.

I don't know if they deserve to be given grace to adjust. Is there even enough time to let them make many mistakes?

They *should* be listening to marginalized people.
Yesterday I read a post and watched an attached video from a person who has articulated themselves as an activist and was complaining that people reacted badly to him filming them burning garbage. This was creating evidence for their criminalization.

Don‘t do or model this. It’s snitch behavior.

I understand why I find body cameras, training, and partnering with the police an inadequate response to ICE, but I don’t understand how you support these solutions with policing and then reject them with ICE, and I imagine that’s the frame these legislators are working from.

They are hunting down activists and threatening them at their homes. It's been happening in Maine as well. Any person at an event that you film, could be the victim of intimidation or violence and it should absolutely be in your mind when you upload them even being peaceful and law abiding.
