I have precisely as much TV programming experience as Bari Weiss — none — but I can at least promise you that if I were suddenly in charge, I would not choose to air forums on “Cars: Are they bad?” or “Has ‘The Social Network’ become overrated within the Fincher oeuvre?”

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

Probably the second Jurassic Park movie, by courageously taking the very embodiment of “movie magic” and redirecting it straight into the toilet
What film sequels take their franchise in the most courageous and strikingly unexpected directions? ...

OKC has outscored opponents by 437 points this season, the largest differential through the first 25 games of a season in NBA history.

90 points higher than the team with the second-best differential, the 2007-08 Boston Celtics.

The opening of this email from Netflix about their acquisition of Warner Brothers does not have me feeling super-confident about how they will treat the classic film archive now in their care. "Franchises" like ... Casablanca? Which is the single classic movie mentioned in a list of TV shows & IP?

If real movies are going to go this fully extinct, at least we got to go out with One Battle After Another.

The Supreme Court denied the petition asking it to reconsider same-sex marriage. There was no noted dissent. This should not come as a surprise to anyone (and if you were surprised, perhaps reconsider your sources of court commentary).

Here at a Denny’s in Allentown, Pa., a salt-of-the-earth swing voter who is also the chair of the local Republican Party tells me he finally feels seen in this world now that his two lifelong grievances — offices for the First Lady, and ballrooms smaller than 90,000 square feet — are vanquished.

I've been thinking similar things since the other morning when I was on the subway and I saw a guy clearly on drugs (he made it clear by saying so) in dockers and a gingham shirt telling two strangers that their baby was so beautiful it made him want to be a father.
