It's cool that these guys just use pepper spray casually now, against people who are wholly within their rights, without a moment's hesitation. Several shots of them using it as they climb into their cars and drive away, not even a pretense of urgency or need. Just a parting "fuck you" to them.
This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

The federal government actions are state terror, and are not any kind of legal or constitutional process.

A reminder George W. Bush “won” the Florida recount in 2000 (and hence the entire presidential election) by just 537 votes because of felony disenfranchisement laws (driven primarily by the racist drug war). Republicans conveniently overpurged Florida voter rolls right before the election.
BREAKING: The Virginia Senate passes a constitutional amendment to automatically restore voting rights to people with felony convictions.

The measure now heads to voters. If approved, thousands of Virginians — particularly Black residents — would no longer be shut out of the democratic process.

Just a reminder that Trump is selling Venezuelan oil and depositing the proceeds into a bank account in Qatar that is NOT under any control by the US government or Congress.

He's just stealing it. It really is that simple.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Another thing you should know about the Twin Cities, if you're not here, is that while the mayor and governor tell us to stay calm on TV, our council members and other local electeds are on the street patrolling and protecting neighbors, doing mutual aid, and otherwise serving the community.

This useless moron’s address is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen in ages.

He’s the governor, he could activate the national guard and defend his constituents; instead he tells them “video the ICE people, but be nice and good luck, byeee!”

These fools are useless. The comments are savage.

Among the problems with Gov. Walz’s approach:
1. The Administration and Trump will lie about peaceful things being violent, relentlessly, and the media will do a bad job calling it out.
2. ICE will murder peaceful people and the Trump Administration will endorse it.

Barack Obama is awfully quiet.

Do Governor Tim Walz, Klob, Schumer, Jeffries and all the national dems think parents ought to remain peaceful while their children are gassed and their neighbors are kidnapped—or should they fight back to stop the chemical warfare which is killing them?
His 6 month old stopped breathing!

HIS SIX MONTH OLD STOPPED BREATHING!

A father was getting his kids out of the neighborhood because it was unsafe & ICE threw flash bangs & tear gas at his car with children & a baby inside!

His 6 month old stopped breathing & all the children were hospitalized!

No actually a lot of people who say "abolish ICE" are abolitionists, they're for abolishing Borders and Customs EEforcement (ICE's predecessor) and borders altogether and going back to open borders, which the U.S. largely had until 1924
Let’s talk about abolishing ICE.

Very few people who say “abolish ICE” mean “abandon all immigration enforcement.” Rather, they mean “the structure of immigration enforcement is irretrievably broken and needs to be reorganized, just like we did 23 years ago when we created ICE.”

This good-natured, 34-year-old, Muslim, immigrant man—who the Times bemoaned was too young and radical to “get anything done”—has accomplished more good governance in a *week* on the job than most liberal politicians accomplish in their whole careers. With a smile & a joyful heart. A blessing.
Last week, we announced a plan to make child care universal. Today, applications are open for pre-K & 3-K. If your child is turning 3 or 4, apply now for the fall at: myschools.nyc

46% support abolishing ICE
43% oppose abolishing ICE

Walk into my neighborhood ACE last night & see the signage on their door notifying fed agents that it’s private property and cannot be used for immigration enforcement. These signs are all over the city.

As @gregdoucette.bsky.social says:

“those who place themselves above the law's reach are beyond the law's protection”
JD Vance proclaims that all federal police enjoy "absolute immunity" from prosecution for any crime.

In other words, Vance is giving the go-ahead for DHS and others to murder anyone, at any time, and without cause, due process, or regard for the safety of others.
