I made a book out of a reishi mushroom I found in the woods at the artist residency I did in central Mass last fall.

I'm still thinking about what the contents should be. What would you put in here?

'Unregenerate' is a word for 2026
Yep -
"But they are balanced at the other end of the pole by the unregenerate segregationists who have declared that democracy is not worth having if it involves equality." - Dr. King, Where Do We Go From Here?: Chaos or Community (1967) (1 of 2)

thread about how it can all go wrong
An example that's on my mind: in 2020 Asheville city hall was badly losing the uprising. They'd enraged the public by teargassing anti-racist demos and attacking a medic station. The mayor declared an unpopular curfew. The cops could no longer hold the streets.

So the non-profit complex swept in...
One of the purposes of non-profit complex orgs is to gatekeep, deter and co-opt organizing, especially when it's militant and working.

So if you suddenly see polished posts by "otg" groups using social justice jargon to demand people abandon wildly successful tactics, it's worth being skeptical.

Also on the way home it occurred to me that bus shelters have little ledges around the top, and the first one I checked had a secret rosary??
Froze my ass off getting to butoh class to spend 2 hours pretending to be a jellyfish, crushed an Italian beef on the way to the $5 metal show in the repurposed garage with a half pipe in it. Perfect Chicago Saturday night no notes

Happy 107th anniversary of the great molasses flood in Boston that killed 21 and injured 150.

A yummy, but slow and viscous death.

semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

“Maybe yes and maybe no,” said Frog.

Alright let’s start calling our house reps and senators to tell them to support this. Even if they don’t listen this time, you call them anyway. If you don’t feel like doing it right now set a reminder in your phone for tomorrow. If you can’t call, send a fax (visit your local library!) or email.
The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.
