It really hurts my brain to think that this waste of space, who claims to be the greatest negotiator of all time, thinks that individuals with the absolute least leverage are going to be able to negotiate better pricing than the government can as a collective.

Real question for the New York Times. You referred to a source as “an academic.” What does that mean to the newspaper? If someone dropped out of graduate school and is not employed by a a university, are they an academic? If someone dropped out of medical school, would you call them a physician?
