It is an embarrassment to the United States that Trump - who is defying the will of the vast majority of Venezuelans by keeping Machado, their chosen leader, out of office in favor of an authoriarian stooge - has oerced Machado to "give" Trump a Nobel prize Machado earned for furthering democracy.

Labeling Americans protesting government actions "insurrectionists" and threats to "security" could not be more at odds with the Constitution of the United States, and with the foundational rationale of the Revolution that brought our nation into existence.

Schumer was among the first leading NY politicians to work closely with Mamdani, when they together successfully supported NYC cabbies' effort to obtain debt relief (Schumer's great grandfather was a cabbie). There is every reason to expect him to support much of Mamdani's economic program.
