Your regular reminder that mainstream pro-democracy political parties do not make restricting suffrage the central pillar of their policy platform, & it was a mistake for us, as a society, to continue tolerating this stuff in any way, shape, or form, even long before the GOP went full authoritarian.
If this ballot measure passes in 9 days in Maine, it will upend the rules of elections in that state in the future — starting, you know it, with next year’s Senate race.

It was pushed by a conservative organization that is aiming to shift the state to a GOP majority.
