Apple has been consistently brilliant with their programming. Now we have Pluribus? Going utopia with the Borg trope? So freaking good. Freaking being the key word here—it’s programming for all of us weirdos proudly flying our freak flag.

super cool that the Democrats shut down the government to "protect ACA subsidies", then threw away all their leverage in exchange for a pinky promise to have a vote on subsidies a month later, which is now being used as an excuse for the GOP to slip in anti-trans clauses and dare Dems to agree
the senate republican proposal to address aca subsidies includes a ban on essential health benefit coverage for sex transition-related medical care

After my escape from the all consuming world of academia, never in a million years did I think teaching would bring me so much joy and soul satisfaction. Yet, here I am. A teacher, despite all of my previous resistance, and I’m not even a little bit mad about it.

As your Governor, I’ve never been prouder to work for you - and with you. But the fight isn’t over. I’m running for reelection because Oregon values are on the line.

I’ve graduated from dragonfly visitations to a hummingbird. My rosemary is blooming late (which surprised me, I didn’t know it could bloom in this weather) and my hummingbird visitor loves those little blue blossoms 🤗🥰

It only took four of us making a two-minute public comment about the library at the city council meeting for the councilors to restore the funding the mayor’s office had cut.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

Happy Gratitude Day! May peace, love, joy and plenty grace our lives and guide us to a generosity of spirit that cannot be discouraged, even in these difficult times.

Happy Gratitude Day! There are some things that get on my nerves, but it’s so worth the minor
hassles to connect with family for a few days. Mom’s turkey is over the moon good, can’t wait. It’s been many years, ten I think.

My mom is blasting Fox News, so I’m holed up in the back room so I don’t have to listen to that garbage.

I need the quiet time anyway.

In Santa Barbara, the skies are blue and the surf is gentle, but stars help me get through this family visit with some semblance of sanity 😱

Caught the sunrise and am now recharged and ready for my mom and family in Santa Barbara.

Onward!

Oregon coast oysters are so fresh and delicious, I’m trying to cram in as many oyster meals as I can while I’m here. Every restaurant prepares them slightly differently so I never get bored with them.

I definitely have a favorite though—crispy oysters at Catalyst by the Marina.

Watching cbs news doing a story on a jail that has a recovery program that has reduced their recidivism rate down to 23% (!!!)

“What’s the secret sauce?” Asks a reporter.

“Love.”

My heart just grew ten sizes.
