We need to keep talking about the situation in Bernalillo County MDC, where ALL paper books--including personal possessions--were taken away from incarcerated people earlier this year. The proposed replacement is a tablet with extremely limited book options.

Financial inaccessibility to poetry is one reason why I began a DIY poetry syllabus a few years ago

It’s an ongoing labor of love, and all works sourced are available to read for free

Definitely true, but remember that a ton of poems are published online, for free, by lit journals!

The best way to find a poet you want to buy a full collection from is to check out the open access work linked on their website 💜
I have ordered four poetry books today and *holy shit* are these things expensive and hard to acquire.

I understand why nobody reads poetry 💀

I was informed recently that my book, “A Prayer For A Non-Religious Autistic” was spotted in a Little Free Library in my area!

Thank you, dear reader, for supporting book accessibility on-the-ground!

I hope you found meaning in my work, and I hope the next reader will also!

Genuinely so unhinged that yesterday Trump called for the execution of Democratic lawmakers and today he said that Mamdani can call him a fascist and all anyone is talking about is how funny it is he likes Mamdani

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

You cannot talk about the loss of trans lives in this country or the continuing dangers trans people face navigating the world without talking about how most victims of transphobic violence are Black and brown.

All trans people are under attack, but transphobia doesn't exist in a bubble and people of color are always going to experience the violence in more profound and direct ways. Any TDOR event that centers white experiences is ignoring the reality of the losses our community suffers.

The New York Times obit for Alice Wong doesn’t mention Covid or Gaza

It ignores two of her biggest causes because of political bias

Alice fought tirelessly for Covid mitigations

She fought for the people of Gaza

She rightfully reminded us that the genocide in Gaza is a disability justice issue
