NEW EPISODE of Three Castles Burning.

Cormac Murray is the author of a new study of the US Embassy in Ballsbridge. This building was divisive in its day - both here and abroad - but Cormac places it in its architectural and social context brilliantly.

Reading about that mass shooting in America last night and, even though I already knew it was high, this still takes your breath away

Comment & Analysis: Sadly, I have to start this article by saying, for the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this article says 'don't be visible'. Lights are a legal requirement, and it'd be a good start if the Gardai enforced them, and people walking should take steps to be visible on unlit roads. I get it, nobody likes it when people are walking on unlit roads in the dark without lights and wearing dark clothing, and it's annoying when some cyclists think they are ninjas.

Snapshot of my promotional emails today.

Black Friday is a total scam. You do not need to buy anything today, unless you absolutely need it.

A lot of these 'deals' are completely manipulated.

Besides, whatever it is, will be 'on sale' again in a month or two.

Today, I saw a driver overtake a stopped bus and plough through a pedestrian crossing. He beeped three times as he sped though. The beeping was to warn people because, as he had overtaken a bus, he had zero visibility of who was about to step out onto the crossing.

But sure, more hi-vis, everyone
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

'Young people don't drink anymore'

Eh, half of UCD is completely smashed right now. 30 plus, very pissed kids in Christmas jumpers just got off this bus. Being that drunk at 2:15 is a rookie mistake. They'll learn 🤣🤣🤣
Today is UCD Christmas Day. Now one of the biggest days of the year for students. Run in to Xmas exams starts tomorrow

it's hard to think of another situation where you can kill someone and essentially get away with it. driving 25% over the speed limit, on the wrong side of the road – and she's allowed back behind the wheel before this guy's poor kids are finished with school
