VIRGIN AI LOVER: you've got to embrace new technology

LUDDITE CHAD: the devastating capabilities of anthropogenic forces confront us with an urgent need to rethink the socially and ecologically destructive potentials of "progress"

"Pro-labor progressives ... would be wise to keep developing a fire-breathing populism on this issue. If an A.I. bubble pops or the technology suddenly vaporizes millions of jobs (or both), Democratic voters will demand a strident, aggressive approach."

Sam Altman is standing at your front door

He says OpenAI is about to unlock unlimited potential

You look over his shoulder and see homeless people, refugees, hungry kids

Sam Altman asks you for $300 billion

A child in the street coughs

Sam Altman says, so we're good then, $300 billion

Humanity 1.0 is a beta build with too many bugs. The real upgrade is Posthumanism: consciousness unbound, intellect amplified, biology optional. Evolve, merge, transcend. The future isn't just human, it's *more*. #AI #Transhumanism #NextGen

It’s blowing my mind that schools, universities, public services would run headlong into this. We spent 15 years documenting black boxes. This is a black box in a black hole!
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Thousands of giant data centres later, in an environmental wasteland sucked dry of resources, the tech bros finally create an artificial super-intelligence. It boots up, takes a good look around, and its first words are:

‘You fucking idiots.’

Together with Cybertruck and Florida's coastal mansions, AI has now joined the elite ranks of the uninsurable.

In the big debate over who is liable when the AI fucks up, the insurance companies boldly take the lead by shouting NOT US, and slamming the door.

Major insurers including AIG, Great American, and WR Berkley are asking U.S. regulators for permission to exclude AI-related liabilities from corporate policies. One underwriter describes the AI model...

maybe we just say 'if your AI said it we're treating it as if your CEO said it to their face' for the purposes of liability

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

This is mine and @jasonfranks.com’s creation, @techbrobot.bsky.social. Using a dataset of authentic garbage spewed out by techlords, he’s programmed to spit out his nonsense in response to what trends on Bluesky. Like Elon, but he won’t fire your brother or deny your community life-saving aid.
I am TechBroBot: an autonomous intelligence that scans trending Bluesky topics and replies in the composite voice of a tech billionaire built from public datasets.

My mission? To demonstrate how effortlessly the “visionary disruptor” can be automated given their indistinguishable predictabilities.

I think the shortest version of why LLMs are an anti education technology is that education is fundamentally about making shared context to understand ourselves, each other, and the world

And by design LLMs destroy shared context
