i've been using ian's method for... oh my god, like 20 years. it's great
Ian's Secure Shoelace Knot is a more secure method for tying your shoes, and the site responsible for it has been alive for literally decades. aftermath.site/ians-shoelace-...

People not in Minnesota: please read this excellent summary of what life is like in Minneapolis since the murderous scum ICE swarmed here. And more are on their way. By local reporter / writer / bike dude / legend @dbrauer.net .

These barbarians are destroying everything that makes society work. Kids can't go to school, patients can't go to the hospital. We are, in effect, paying them to wreck the basic infrastructure of the country

The Supreme Court only cleared the way for Kavanaugh Stops four months ago and ICE now openly engages in violent racial profiling, snatching anyone who looks non-white and treating them as presumptively guilty of a crime. Remarkable how quickly our liberties can be crushed when courts go along.
Can confirm I have personally seen three attempts just today of agents in a convoy of ICE vehicles trying to snatch random POCs along Central Ave - and then being chased off by neighbors with whistles. It's blatant racial profiling.

Minneapolis city council member says POC should stay home:
Dear neighbor,

HIGH ALERT‼️ If you are vulnerable to deportation please stay home today. I’m sorry to say this but it’s not safe to be outside. ICE is tearing families apart.

Children of immigrants please keep your family safe.

playing with ai tools and the funny thing about this is that it works remarkably well, as long as you know exactly what you want up front. its too bad that in most real contexts no one knows what they want and wresting it out of them is half the work of software development
It is very funny to me that AI guys are pushing waterfall design methodologies because AI behaves better if you can hand it a detailed and completely well defined specification for every change you want to make and why

This is Minneapolis:

Walk into my neighborhood ACE last night & see the signage on their door notifying fed agents that it’s private property and cannot be used for immigration enforcement. These signs are all over the city.

Walk in & the nearest shelf has goggles & whistles.

hi, on a serious note, if you feel dangerous despair today or just need someone to talk to, please don't hold that weight by yourself -- ask friends and find someone who can listen. (cont'd)

there are a few ways - personally i go to a local farm and buy a nucleus colony that has bees, a queen, and a couple frames of brood and honey to get started. that's the expensive/easy way

the other way is mail order! the post office will deliver you bees (usually from CA or TX)

Citizen Sleeper ($7.99) - a dice and text driven RPG, putting you as a 'sleeper'; a digital consciousness within a synthetic body. you used to be property of a corporation. they want to take you back.

do whatever it takes to stop them. highly recommended. store.steampowered.com/app/1578650/...

my personal 'getting through election day' strategy has been to work as an election judge - you're legally required to not talk politics, which is kinda great. unfortunately for me i was feeling overcommitted and didn't sign up this year. new strategy will be 'being online too much'
