There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.

Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

Just your Sunday reminder that the reason Alaska is scrambling to disburse $272 million dollars through the Rural Health Transformation Fund is because your government codified 2017 tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and paid for it by cutting health care and food assistance for veterans.

Oh, the things Congress slips into bill that their constituents don’t have time to read through because most are living paycheck to paycheck.
AGREED!!!! Nor should they have gotten the Employee Retention Credit, or any COVID credits.
Any member of Congress that got a PPP loan should not have gotten forgiveness of the loan. None of them missed a paycheck, so they can't justify forgiveness because of a lack of income or hardship.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

That the files aren't ending the careers of everyone named in them tells you all you need to know. That all those people aren't in jail is a clear indicator of what matters. It's a political football. There's no justice for survivors because the victims were girls and young women.
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex
