@quadcarl.bsky.social Just in case you don't know about this. I think I paid under $2 for this a few months ago, but it is NOT gasoline.
Here's my best guess. They're talking about ethanol85 gas. I currently live near Mount Pleasant, Iowa. I pay about $3 a gallon for the cheapest "normal" gas. This subsidized ethanol version is now $2.15. I used it once, and it nearly wrecked my new car. My mechanic told me to never use it again.

If members of the press are worried they didn’t give enough coverage to the cognitive decline of a sitting president, they have an amazing opportunity to make up for it right now.

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops.

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

Remind you of anyone?

How many scoops at WaPo or the LA Times have _already_ been buried.
Here’s your reminder that The Atlantic is owned by Laurene Powell Jobs, a woman billionaire. Imagine if this scoop had come to a journalist at WaPo or the LA times, it could well have been buried.

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away.

They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.
Exclusive: NIH officials have advised scientists to remove reference to mRNA vaccines from their grant applications, in expectation the Trump administration intends to abandon most research in the field.

Good thread from David August:
“We will not benefit any longer from the Peace Dividend.”

French President Macron delivered this speech to prepare the continent for war with Russia.

Heartbreaking that my nation has made this happen. It is a shame and failure that may echo through history.

Connect with people. That’s step 1. Nobody is a stepping stone. Find like minds, someone who will read you and don’t expect anything. If they like it, they’ll tell someone. Truly good scripts are rare, even from good writers. When you read one, you tell friends. ‘I saw a great movie…on the page.’

My dear friend Sandra de Bruin died the other day of flu at 85. She was a Mighty Carson Art Player, the secretary on THE ROCKFORD FILES, and a working actor for 50 years. She was very proud of this memoir she wrote a few years ago. It's very good: www.amazon.com/stores/autho...
