I'm going to repost some good news. Not being naive, just trying to stave off despair. This is adorable.
THREAD.

My parents' cat Bridget vanished. As the weeks dragged on they became ever more worried, so to distract himself my dad began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up at some of art & music's most important moments.

I've collected his work here...

Blue Plaques are brilliant aren't they? I must have walked down Long Acre in London a hundred times, but only yesterday looked up and saw that Margot Fonteyn lived in Flat 9 of No. 118.
Imagine, you might have seen her on your way to the Rock Garden to see Talking Heads' first UK show.

There are streets in London where so many famous people must have walked , like William Blake being born at the bottom of Carnaby St

My fave Kubrick anecdote: David Prowse on acting in A Clockwork Orange:
'So you want me to carry Patrick Magee, who weighs 17Olbs, plus the wheelchair, another 30lbs, so 200lbs, down the stairs & then do a dialogue scene?'
'Yeah, you can do it.'
'I know but your name isn't One Take Kubrick, is it?'

White people are putting Mexican flag stickers on their cars to get pulled over and waste ICE's time. They call it “ICE fishing”. Brilliant.

Oh my that's lovely, and here's proof that good ideas repeat. I've recently been sorting 'stuff' from boxes packed up 3 decades ago and found 2 Carlton Ware 'Walking Ware' pottery mugs that were gifted us. Checked and the walking ware china was produced '74 to '86, here's a quick dusty picture:

I'm still astounded that the debate around banning children from using social media seems to be SOLELY based on "they see images of suicide/beheadings/animal torture/pornography/encouragement to racial hatred and terrorism".

These things shouldn't be on there anyway.
