Happy #TDOV! Are you Trans in Dayton, Ohio? Here's a zine I made with resources for you (health, food, housing, worship, community, etc.). They could take it all away and I'd still be trans.

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.

Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

HATER TIME: I can't stand Spotify Wrapped. I cannot think of a fact I care less about than someone's 12th-most-listened-to song or whatever, and it inevitably means a day full of hearing 3 different cell phone speakers blasting music in any given class. Plus, fuck Spotify!

JUST IN: Democrats have flipped the mayor's office in Roswell, Georgia, in tonight's runoff.

GOP Mayor Kurt Wilson conceded earlier tonight to Mary Robichaux, the Dem challenging him.

"Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott (D), who was first elected in 2020, has brought the city’s homicide rate down by treating violent crime as a public health crisis... a symptom of multiple factors, including racism, poverty, and past violence."

National media ignores this bc the solution isn't police.

Nor mine. There's a lot wrong with higher ed today, but students aren't the problem.
fwiw this has not been my experience at all
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

None of this is true of 95% of my students the last two years. Most attend class (not mandatory for my class, except for missing that primo lecture content 👌🏽). We've gone further in the curriculum than ever before - AI still can't harmonize or compose specie CP. Students are interested and invested.
This broadly tallies with my experience of teaching, and what colleagues have shared, over the last decade or so, though of course there are exceptions

In case you’re wondering why Pete Hegseth is freaking out about a congressional video reminding the military not to participate in illegal orders:
To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."
