Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.
3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.
4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.
It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

It’s not just internal collapse: I had an almost blind trust in advice given to me by AWS staff (especially when compared to other businesses) as they were trusted by their employer to put customers’ interests before their own. AWS leadership’s actions also erode that trust.
I'll say here what I left unstated in my @monktoberfest.com talk: AWS in particular is in a state of cultural collapse because they have done exactly this -- and their RTO mandate has served to decimate organizational trust.
Another awesome @monktoberfest.com talk by @bcantrill.bsky.social ! It's absolutely worth watching the whole talk, but I think the last bit is great way to wrap up, where Bryan talks about broken institutional and organisational trust using RTO example:

In a demonstration of the UNIX spirit of maintaining small differences between systems, TIL that Linux considers /dev/random legacy, and recommends /dev/urandom.
otoh, macOS recommends using /dev/random, and ignoring /dev/urandom, which exists on macOS systems as a "compatibility nod to Linux".

Hard disagree. People would also misinterpret the long texts
