This is a solid list but I can’t believe they couldn’t find room for Moby.
Q Magazine's list of the 50 Worst Albums is a list of albums that are broadly speaking far more interesting than *any* magazine's list of the 50 Best Albums.

I think it's worth pointing out that very few video-game companies are as transparent as Shovel Knight maker Yacht Club Games, and I appreciate that the studio was so candid about their story and why their next game, Mina the Hollower, has taken so long

Good thread. 🧵
An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Counterpoint: it’s ok to think about whether an expensive game is worth it before you buy it.
It’s fucking insane that people are already writing off Metroid Prime 4 because it has an 80 on Metacritic. Maybe stop worrying about the reviews so much, play the fucking game for yourself, and form your own opinion. If you enjoyed the game, then it doesn’t matter than it got an 80 instead of a 90.

1) Let's be clear about what's happening in the Games Industry right now. When the first layoffs came, it was studios expecting that the bad economy would cut games sales. People who started gaming during the Pandemic went back to their non-gaming lives, people has less money to spend.

Now that Metroid Prime is mediocre I guess we can start attributing that quote about delayed games to Beeman instead of Miyamoto?

Left coded is when hate salesmen lose trolling access long enough that you can catch your breath and think about something other than them for a minute.
The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

You’re walking through the Library of Alexandria. Every piece of published human knowledge is found within its walls. Once it was so organized that you could walk right to the information you wanted. Most of that info is still there but it is far outnumbered by fake info. No fires were necessary.

Video games question: When you’re interacting with the public or a community in the context of a video game, do you take it like the people you meet are literally the only people there or do you take it as they’re symbolic of a larger unseen population?
