Did you know that, in some countries, opposition parties actually oppose things? I know, I was surprised to learn it too!

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

It CAN be done. Get involved where you live and push back.

Doomposters on here are going to handwring tha the administration has already won but instead of posting, the correct answer in this case is to sign up to be a poll watcher and saying “I’d like to see you try”
There were 89,000 polling places in 2022.

8 states have all-mail elections.

At least 5,000,000 Americans marched in the October No Kings demonstrations.

They have 15,000 guys. They couldn't "surround the polls" if they wanted to.
Steve Bannon says the federal government is planning to send ICE officers to patrol polling stations during the midterms.

"We're going to have ICE surround the polls come November."

Thank you Governor @abigailspanberger.com other Dems take note, this is how you stand up for what is right *and* build enthusiasm for your party
NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.

Abigail Spanberger left the 287(g) program, which empowered state law enforcement to detain immigrants. Will Democrats also bar local police and sheriffs from the program?

This debate or discourse or discussion about why Bezos is dismantling WaPo or whether or not more subscriptions or boycotts could change things or how he could fund it easily is pointless. It’s moot.

Bezos bought the Post to control the narrative and push his agenda. Financials don’t matter.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

Messaging by MAGA cult leaders are as predictable as milk curdling past expiration date. We know they’re going to steal even before they brag openly about how they’re doing it.

They seek to stoke fear but it’s backfiring as folks clearly see this as highly illegal, unethical and unconstitutional.

The hallmark (the “brand”) of the Washington Post has been accountability journalism. Thus, today’s staff decimation is Bezos’s greatest gift to Trump, so much more valuable than the Melania movie, inauguration money, etc. This disaster began, for real, with the Harris endorsement he killed.

Where is that anger for the Broligarchs, like Thiel & Musk, who also used our freedoms to destroy the US--immigrating here, getting rich on tax $ (esp fed contracts), then blowing up democracy from the inside?

I think the 2016 and 2024 elections showed that leftists have a lot to learn about just sucking it up and choosing the better option and liberals have a lot to learn about listening to the people to their left who say “everything is not perfect.”
Yeah, like these nitwits still haven’t figured out the way to avoid being here is not to spend 18 months poisoning the well against the one option to prevent fascism.

Now that we are here, yes, maybe start listening to us since that was too much to ask before, and you fucked up.
