Concentration camps are such a good idea we should use them to solve every problem?

Way bigger than the inauguration crowd, also Fuck ICE
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

In 2026, I want to drown in entertainment of wild costumes, puppetry, and dance. The weirder, the better. I want the majesty and spectacle to be bigger than whatever the fuck is going on in Washington, so we can remember what human brains and hearts can do.

I've done my part to be ignored by my elected officials today!

Couldn't decide whether I wanted @carterhaughschool.bsky.social's Fairylore in hardcover or e-book, so I got both. Can't wait to read it. Want your own? carterhaughschool.lpages.co/fairylore-pr...

Today my kid came home from school crying because ICE was there, had taken some kids. He doesn't understand why adults are standing by, letting it happen. He's worried "we won't make it" through the current administration. He's worried they will come for him when they run out of others. He's angry.

Overheard at hotel breakfast, a kid and his grandmother. She’s peeling an orange.
Kid: ew! What’s wrong with your orange?
GMA: nothing, it’s an orange
Kid: But it has a…nipple!
GMA: it’s called a navel orange, like your bellybutton
Kid: oh, so like an inside out nipple.

This racist ranting is what @fordmotorsofficial.bsky.social, Stellantis, and General Motors supports. That makes car shopping a bit easier.
Who are all these grinning white people laughing at Trump's vile racism? h/t to @helenkennedy.bsky.social for pulling together a list. Shame on each & every one of them.

Finally geared myself up to watch season 3 of The Diplomat, and oh my god. These people are messy and human and so very, very flawed and I love them all. Also, my heart can't take this.

Always fun when my folklore interests and my food interests come together in canned pasta.
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog Pasta (1998-1999): Canned pasta in a tomato/cheese sauce from Franco-American, shaped like weapons, a castle, and a dragon from the short-lived Fox Kids action-fantasy series from Saban, which was set in ancient Ireland

TIL that Toys R Us is Spirit-ifying across the US because my husband stops what he was doing in the kitchen and says "Is that Turn Down for What?" and runs to the living room to see their float, which led to "they still exist?" and googling.

I really like Shaggy--his voice is odd and appealing, and he's definitely a *checks notes* "rumpshaker"--but I'm not sure I'd invite him to Thanksgiving. "No, Grandma, I'm sure you didn't actually see him buck naked on the bathroom floor. Let's have some more pie."

About to embark upon my first ever play of RuneQuest. If it's anything like character creation has gone, I have concerns.

Can I be X?
"No."
Can I be Y?
"No."
Can I be Z--?
"Why doesn't anyone ever want to be a human?"
OK...would you like me to be a human?
"No, be what you want."

It's hard to say which grocery is more cutthroat* at the holidays--Weilands (Columbus) or Heinen's (Cleveland, specifically Green Rd.). I've been rammed by an old woman with a cart at Heinen's. Lots of bumping, football like, at Weilands.

*The clientele, of course. The staff at both are lovely.
