das ist ein gutes Sinnbild für die Verkehrsdebatten in Wien. Man bemängelt die fehlenden Radwege oder dass es zu Fuß oft sehr eng ist und irgendein Hawi kommt mit dem trottelhaften "na dann zieh' halt aufs Land"-Argument. Abgesehen davon braucht man am Land ein Auto, in Wien nicht.
Aha, und die Luftbildaufnahme symbolisiert die Mobilitätszustände in Wien? So ein Schas. Wien wird x-mal hintereinander zur lebenswertesten Stadt der Welt gewählt, und der Herr Janik ist unzufrieden. Warum hat er seinen Wohnsitz nicht nach Schasklappersdorf an der Blunzn verlegt. Lächerlich.

Just had a great gameshow idea. We find 20 of the worst people imaginable and give them all free airtime. Then we add 1 person with different views and call it a debate. Afterwards the terrible people can use the attention to grift idiots for donations. I think this would massively benefit society.

I have to console victims of scams all the time and I tell them that often scammers are talented professionals with years, maybe decades, of experience. Like if a veteran MMA fighter beat you up in a bar fight you won’t say “I’m such a wimp.” You’d say a trained experienced fighter beat me.
ngl my first reaction upon discovering our intern had fallen for a gift card scam in her first week (an impersonation attack based on details from linkedin, literally the kind of problem that @blockpartyapp.com is solving, an actual example we use in our marketing) was

Als eines von sieben Kindern geht mir Großfamilien-Bashing nahe. Ich habe früh gelernt, dass es einen himmelweiten Unterschied macht, ob man eines von vielen Kindern in einer reichen oder armen Familie ist. Eine Szene hat sich mir tief ins Gedächtnis geschrieben.

The word “login” comes from throwing a log attached to a rope with knots overboard a ship to see how many knots go by over time (see also, knots as speed). You’d then put that info in the “log book.” You’d “log in” on a regular basis. This wasn’t from 1959, it was likely from 1689! Etymology baby!

I have experienced multiple earthquakes, but this video of a strike slip earthquake in Myanmar on March 28 triggering a surface rupture and a large and dramatic horizontal displacement—the first ever caught on camera—is astonishing.
