My forecast:
- US lifts sanctions on Russia by Mar 31, 2025
- US reaches agreement with Russia for mineral mining rights in eastern Ukraine by Jun 30, 2025
- Ukrainian government collapses by Dec 31, 2025
- US withdraws from NATO by Dec 31, 2026
Putin’s lifelong dream was to somehow separate the US from NATO. But how to break up a strong alliance that stood for 80 years and continued to expand? There really was only one way to do it, he figured it out a decade ago, and played the long game. Now his guy will do it.

Trump is fucking Ukraine. I’m ashamed to be represented by this regime. People fighting for their lives and country and this government sides with the aggressor. Sad.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Sounds good, except it's Starbucks and it's Target
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

@kenwhite.bsky.social do you generally recommend that a client fabricate grand jury records (at least in part) in order to rush out an indictment before the statute of limitations hits in order to please Dear Leader?

Canadian travel is international news

October marked the 10th straight month of decline in the number of Canadian travellers to the US

🇨🇦👉🏻🇺🇸Air travel dropped 24%
🇨🇦👉🏻🇺🇸car travel fell 30%

Snowbird season is starting, will numbers:

In Berlin today we discussed how to increase our support to Ukraine while building up Europe’s defence.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Hard agree.

Appearances, like rhetoric, matters.

If we dress up police like soldiers then we shouldn’t be surprised that they act like soldiers (not disrespecting soldiers - what I mean is that they’d treat the public like an enemy to fight rather than a public to serve).
I simply refuse to accept that police ever have to look like this. this is just pure cosplay. it should be illegal for cops to be dressed like soldiers going to war.
