Maths...

If you make $100,000 a year (not bad), it will take you 10 MILLION years to earn a trillion dollars.

If you make a million dollars a year (wow!), it'll still take you a million years to earn a trillion dollars.

Tax the rich.

Went ahead and put a bunch of my most popular work - including my Mothership class, my sci-fi gig economy solo RPG (and its Online-focused expansion!), and my cyberpunk microgame trilogy - on sale through the end of November!

This is too cool of a thread idea to pass up on – I've got to try this with my own games.

"The kind of tv show each of my games would be if I was given the budget to make tv shows instead of a #ttrpg:" 1/7
In lieu of yet another objectively correct opinion on the "Rule of Cool," I present you a thread of the kind of tv show each of my games would be if I was given the budget to make tv shows instead of ttrpgs.

I run games like a writers' room, I write them to help you run them like tv shows. 1/14

(1/39 VERY LONG)
I'd like to share something that has been a once in a lifetime experience I've had the privilege to partake in over the last 2 weeks. I'm playing in a discord based, play-by-post megagame called #OVER/UNDER which as of writing, stands at 1,749 players and rising every day.

#OVER/UNDER is open for new players, and it's a great time to dive in. The mass chaos of the initial days has cooled into more regular play, there's new clarity around the rules/safety tools, and overall, the story is spinning up for an interesting new Act II. Join in! samsorensen.blot.im

My first #TTRPG was already an indie game - The Riddle of Steel, back in 2002 - so I was primed and eager to explore odd indie games from the start.

But I guess I can say that a few games would later blow a deeper set of doors open for me — Spark, Blades in the Dark, and Good Society.
For tons of folks, there was that -one- game that blew the doors open and showed what #TTRPGs could be. The one that started the #IndieGame rabbit hole.

What was YOUR "gateway" indie #TTRPG? The first one that made you realize a whole other world was out there?

Okay, here's my attempt at reining myself in as I build this Campaign frame. While I'll be making several new Classes for it, I'll be re-using or slightly re-imagining a few of the originals. But, most importantly, this plan does not involve the creation of any new Domains.

Keep thinking about how I want to make new classes and domains for Daggerheart, but then coming up with a plan that is way too convoluted and way too much work. Gotta start itty bitty small

Even if it means sometimes having to dump a lot of time into redesigns, I do not regret writing in layout.

One of the many benefits of writing/designing in layout: It helps me constrain specific game mechanics and concepts into single pages or spreads.
The right time to start working on the graphic design + art of your RPG stuff is *well before* the initial manuscript is finished.

Text should inform Design and Design should inform Text back-and-forth.

Inspired by xkcd.com/3142/, I'm now up past my bedtime consumed with the thought:

What would [x city] style pizza consist of, for the 50 largest cities that do not currently have a consistent style of pizza.

A thread, that I don't expect to finish in one night.

Here are cartoons I’ve done about Gov Cox over the years

I’ve been covering him since he was a wee Lt Gov

There are few political observers as familiar with him as I am

See if you see a recurring theme 1/

I love when a Kickstarter reward shows up well after I've forgotten about it.

My copies of Scion: Demigod and Scion: God arrived today - rounding out my collection of the 2nd edition of this TTRPG series

Now to find time to play them....
