For me, a new phase of the pandemic began in May ’22, when I took more serious notice of troubling scientific studies that weren’t being reported by the media. It then dawned on me, like in a horror movie, that the government was going to simply nope out of COVID—& that everyone would follow suit.

This is why I mask indoors when sharing air with others, regularly test, use air purifiers, and get a COVID booster every six months, most recently on Monday. Saddens and infuriates me governments and organisations are letting us down despite all the evidence these protections are still needed.

I was going to say this isn’t normal… but with years of an ongoing pandemic, repeated infections, and the cognitive effects COVID can cause, it sadly doesn’t surprise me anymore. So many young people are struggling with memory and focus now, and nobody wants to join the dots.
