Methane rules? Weakening. EV mandate? Paused. Oil & gas emissions cap? On the chopping block. New LNG plants? Back in fashion. Canada can still choose a better path. But it starts with honesty, accountability, and climate policy aligned with science, not petrostate logic.

Light traffic and considerate drivers make for great cycling in rural areas here. Only issue is some drivers literally freak out when they see a cyclist, more specific training needed as part of driving courses @nsgov.bsky.social

“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas & city center in 2021.”
Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death

Pedestrian only streets and bike lanes should not be removed for winter.
Vulnerable road user crashes account for 22% of all injury and fatal road crashes in HRM. That is justification alone for permanent, not seasonal, safe spaces.
