At 76, cabaret artist Joey Arias’s resume reads like the movie Big Fish. The tales are almost too tall to believe, but he’s really done them all.

What an honor to help tell this legend's story.

Fireplace roaring, John Coltrane's My Favorite Things playing, a big ol ham in the oven and a whiskey apple cider drink in my hand. It's giving thanks, y'all

Friendsgiving is just Thanksgiving. It isn't worse and in some cases it's actually better

You’ve probably seen a joke like this one in an old movie about Democrats and Republicans having their own Thanksgiving days. But why do these gags exist in the first place?

It’s the Franksgiving controversy! In 1939, FDR moved Thanksgiving to accommodate an extra week of holiday shopping.

I love ordering from Huckberry online but when I went to the storefront in G-town this week I was like "okay this is a lot of gender going on here" s/o @titonka.bsky.social
while many people experience the expectation of gender performance as a straitjacket many people enthusiastically and sincerely love performing their gender as they understand it.

same people sometimes, even.

The thing about DOGE is it accomplished neither its ostensible nor actual goals but did manage to cause a couple of holocausts worth of deaths internationally.

And the media finds none of those three things particularly notable.
It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

He's such an underrated talent. Everyone should also watch him steal the screen in TETRO (2009).

I think that's probably Coppola's best in the last 20 years. Idk if that's a hot take or not. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Alden Ehrenreich is 36
Obviously, the would that it t’were so simple scene is wonderful but I loved this scene where he and Veronica Orsorio are out on a studio stunt date but their chemistry together is immediate & delightful: youtu.be/xKaCxkf1Ccs?...
