In Canada? Need a Dolmenwood? Need a Worm? Getcher orders in.
Last games of the year in the shop! 📚
Remember! If, for any reason, you need any of the books by December 25, the last day to place the order is Wednesday morning, the 17th!*
*Best not to wait till the last second, tho.

The way a game frames itself in these kinds of "statistics" is one of the most useful "do I want to play this" metrics that can exist.
It's very apparent that "board games" can mean very different things to different people when one game feels the need to warn you that it can take up to 30 minutes to play, while another prides itself on being "quick playing" on the basis that a minimal two-player game should only take 2 to 3 hours.

Travelled 4.5 hours for a few days of work w/ a co-worker, for all the work to get cancelled.

We went and saw A Quiet Place in a small-town theatre that was run entirely by teens. A rowdy drunk man was yelling at the movie, causing problems.

Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

You know you only get so many opportunities to do that right?

Like, you can't just spontaneously primary people...

Also these things aren't at odds???? You should be calling even your GOOD representatives to let them know what you as a constituent want???
"Call your represe-"

No. Bad.

If I have to keep screaming at the people to stop trying to burn my house down, the solution is not to scream louder but to find new people whose first instinct isn't to constantly try to burn my house down.

Huge thanks to everyone backing this project. MCDM continues to raise the ceiling on employee and freelance pay, on artist rates, and much more. It is truly a challenge to change how our industry operates.

been shopping for a spotify alternative this week and this is grim stuff. its either volatile small guys who will be dead or bought out in 18 months or trying to decide which major tech platform you hate the least
Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:
How to quit Spotify
This Black Friday, here's a guide to finding the best Spotify alternative

Library access to Kanopy has been so good!
Hey, if your library has Kanopy (we just accessed it last night for the first time, holy molee, it's like the Criterion Collection in there, SO many excellent and classic films), they've got James Goldman's Christmas classic THE LION IN WINTER, which is essentially SUCCESSION, at Christmas, in 1187
