my great-grandparents arrived in the UK in the 1890s with nothing.
they sold pickles from the front room window, took in laundry, worked as tailors.
their children were nurses, teachers, salesmen.
their grandchildren were professors, designers, opticians, doctors, magistrates, entrepreneurs.
This is so disgusting.

also always deeply funny that every sci-fi video game from 1999-2014 was trying to be Aliens, and copied everything except the...working class woman protagonist
Everyone imitates Tolkien all the time except when it comes to the one way it would really matter: making the protagonist of your novel for children a short, fat, 50-year-old man who doesn't want to do anything.

Seeking asylum is not illegal.

People entering the country by irregular means without any other option are not breaking the law.

The Govenrment should be showing humanity not further brutality

An important point to come out of the Sandie Peggie case is that 'gender critical' employees can't take matters into their own hands and confront trans employees. If they do that it is likely to be harassment/ bullying/ a hate incident.

Decision in the Sandie Peggie case.

She was not directly or indirectly discriminated against, her claim of victimisation fails entirely, her claim of harassment fails largely and her claim against Beth Upton fails entirely. www.judiciary.uk/judgments/sa...

Sleight of Hand gameplay trailer showcases occult card strategy in a noir world
Since its announcement in March, it's sounded like Sleight of Hand should be a fantastic stealth-action game in a magical noir setting — and now it looks that way, too.

a way to make your life a lot easier is to avoid being on anyone’s starter pack, at least deliberately, so then no one can expect anything from you and you can flit away into the ether

I’m not really putting blame on studios or studio heads, but more that we should have better systems in place to that value and preserve knowledge, cultural importance and on-going workers.

We really need to stop creating situations where entire studios are hinged on the success of one game to the next
Wreckreation developer Three Fields Entertainment has put its entire studio on notice of redundancy.

The studio was founded by veterans of Criteron Games, creators of the Burnout series, and later developers of Need for Speed.

Sick with the flu and happy to answer art questions. You might just have to wait a day or two if things get busy/if I'm sleeping.
Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.

I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

a bit weird to hear that it takes Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard (the 2 workingest actors) being dissed to have everyone realise that sometimes film directors have silly narrow opinions and tastes, especially because it was said on a bret easton ellis podcast probably situated on ski mountain

occasionally i get so annoyed at Larry Ellison that I look up if he could be genetically related to me & not only is that unlikely but also my family hasn’t moved from around hadrians wall since probably the 1200s and were probably very confused about where england ended and Scotland began

The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.
