a) this fucking sucks, wtf Apple?

b) anybody got the link avail, the one about how to remove this?
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

THE LAST DRAGONERS OF BOWBAZAR won a British Fantasy Award, a Subjective Chaos Kind of Award, and was nominated for the Locus Awards. It's also available in South Asia (with a slightly differently spelled title) as a paperback from @westlandbooks.bsky.social:
ICYMI; THE LAST DRAGONERS OF BOWBAZAAR, my British Fantasy & Subjective Chaos Kind of Award-winning novella about a 'boy from nowhere' coming of age in 90s/00s Calcutta, in a family that may be refugees from another reality, in a house that may be a dragons' nest, is now available in S. Asia.

Signal boost.
Clarkesworld was one of the first online magazines I submitted to. They eventually published one of my favourite short stories that I've written (drafted over one night, not sure I can do that anymore), 'muo-ka's Child'. Help Neil keep the lights on at one of sff's best magazines:

Wen thrifting with my gf today and it was wonderful.

Picked up a fuck ton of vintage great finds for upper wear shirts and layers and costs and outer layers (no luck on good pants) and some nice shoes, including a pair of 300 dollar Chelsea boots for 25 bucks. <.<

I think I used up my luck today..

Wait till they say the word "seat" is doing heavy lifting implying you have to be seated to have a seat, but you can in fact stand in a seat space...so they'll be selling standing tickets soon for a seating ...position you can stand in.
"You also have no guaranteed access to an aisle from an aisle seat. The inflight meal might be rocks -- we don't promise it's edible. Also just because it says 'plane' do not expect a plane, a tractor might show up, or just a guy who is going to carry you to your destination on piggyback."
United's hilarious response to the windowless window seat lawsuit:

"The use of the word 'window' in reference to a particular seat cannot reasonably be interpreted as a promise that the seat will have an exterior window view,"

One of the best parts of this job is being able to share good news. We got some great news this week, and it filled my heart to be able to share it with my client. It can take years to get there, so it’s important to cherish that moment and celebrate it. It makes the hard work all worthwhile.

Please be kind to your airport staff ATM with everything going

My direct flight has a minor delay but with all going all, that's all it has ATM.

TSA was a breeze only delay was...random inspection again go figure....but time overall? Lines...nothing.

People are working and still trying to keep us

Good literary translation requires understanding (language, culture, genre--on both sides of the translation) and an ability to write well. "AI" can't do that. There are no shortcuts. Treat your work and foreign language readers with the respect they deserve. You won't fool anyone with this.

So many artists, writers, and designers I know have learned this lesson the tedious way, so let me co-sign this and say not only is it a huge waste of time and labor to listen to the "I'd buy that" crowd online, you will also lose money. Make what *you* want to make, everything else is noise
The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶
Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”
