More details at the GFM link, but here's a summary: Angela is homeless because she fled her abuser/ex-husband. She's mostly blind, dealing with numerous other health issues including likely diabetes, is living in a car owned by her abuser with 2 cats.

Baclofen withdrawal is deadly.
Malignant hypothermia sets in within hours, dont need that after hypothermia.
Rhabdomyolysis breaks down muscles, including the heart & via that the kidneys.
She already lives with heart injury & only just survived her kidneys shutting down completely from hypothermia.
Azine's mom owns the pharmacy over $300, & she needs baclofen by Wednesday. Baclofen withdrawal is VERY bad, especially given the very high doses she has to take. She needs it by Wednesday.

This is probably a big part of the reason I keep having crying jags.

Also Im hungry and we need help NOW. Not in a few months or when a claim is processed. We need funds for food & rideshares back & forth from the things in our home we need.

This hotel room is smol & its too icy to move big shit.
The severity of the trauma triggering happening by being displaced into a tiny space at the same time of year the house burned down is intense and disruptive.

Please help us manage to make things a bit easier. We're struggling to have enough to eat, even.

When you need supplemental oxygen and don't get it, depending on severity you'll either slowly decline as your brain starves (progressive hypoxemic brain damage) or you'll crash and die in minutes.

I've experienced the first and come very close to the second. This makes me violently angry.
Just finished going through interview transcripts for this project, and I was struck by a participant's recollection of how their oxygen tank was repossessed when they lost their job and lost their employer-sponsored insurance coverage. Lung cancer, post-op.

Inhumane.

I need advice from a home HVAC expert. Need to build air filtration into my central heating, unsure whether I should use vent filters or upgrade the furnace filter or both. I've been given to understand that if the filtering is too thick, it can cause issues with the furnace and/or AC.

Tell your doctors the pulse oximeter racism problem is an issue of concern for you. Even if you're white, tell them. The issue is known, but we need to lend it urgency.

(See also dermatologists being trained with symptom examples on light skin alone.)

#MedSky #NEISVoid
#NEISVoid #MedSky this issue needs to be on everyone's lips until we have a solution in place. A lot of PoC died during early COVID because oxygen wasn't being given out without low pulse oximeter readings + they have trouble with dark skin. The issue continues to this day.
That reminds me, I need to talk to my doctors about the pulse ox issue again. They're much better than most, but it's something that needs reinforcing.

Help
Just sent $400 to partners Mom to save the Only Car for a family of 9 bc the $200 we sent yesterday was used to pay electricity. Rightly so.

Please help us recoup as that wiped out our dental treatment, grocery & bills fund.

If one model is transparently manipulated, you should assume the others are manipulated — just more skillfully.

Grok is sloppy about it.
Other companies are subtle about it.
The only difference is competence, not intent.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

When organizers and schedules assume that everyone can walk fast and climb stairs, people with mobility issues (visible or invisible) might feel excluded.

The generation that lived through the worst of the first two years are graduating around now… the infants are just now joining school.

I think for kids just starting school, they will be impacted indirectly by the large number of deaths that occurred back then, but more directly by illness now.
