They/them ONLY. Seattle area. Bi nonbinary transbian, solidarity cheerleader, white intersectional feminist, social justice bard. Multiply disabled activist. Radical honesty, compassion, & generosity are my jam. I believe in the Gospel of Uncle Ben.

"But maybe you touch one life
And the world becomes a better place to be
Maybe you give their dreams another day
Another chance to be free"

That's why I keep going, right there. My symptom profile is high octane nightmare fuel, but as long as I can make a difference, I have something to fight for.
This song hits me hard. It's about living your life to the fullest before you get old, & I essentially entered old my senior years in my early 30s.

Various health issues have massively shortened my life expectancy & given me a bunch of symptoms commonly associated with old age.
The Crüxshadows – Birthday
Roll out of bed, look in the mirror / And wonder who you are / Another year has come and gone / Today is your birthday / But it might be the last day of your life / What will you

There's something deeply disturbing about EBT/SNAP hate to me. Like just truly bone blanching shit.

Okay, so. I speak semi-fluent Klingon* and I had to pause to make sure I heard this verse correctly: "banjo ‘ej bat’leth jIHIvchu’" or "Banjo and bat’leth strike as one"

This band will see the gates of sto'vo'kor.

A lot of society is built around teaching people to curb their selfish impulses. These messages can be counterproductive, however, for people who are already radically selfless.

We need more messaging encouraging selfishness among activists in order to reduce burnout rates.

Take it from me, the incessantly supportive voice in your ear: My work is much easier if I don't have to repeat myself! ❤️‍🔥
Let people thank you. Internalize genuine compliments. Learn to appreciate the gratitude of others.

Let people build you up, and build them up in turn. This is the Way.

This is also partially conditioning by systems like ABA (and all of the ways that ABA is reflected in society as a whole.) When we're taught that having boundaries is being rude and asking for help is being lazy. That "sharing is caring" even with precious items and people you barely interact with.
#ActuallyAutistic our sense of justice can lead to dangerous levels of selflessness in my experience

Selflessness does not mean self-SACRIFICE. It's not selfish in a toxic way to watch out for your own wellbeing. If you're not TAKING from other people, or refusing to contribute at all, then you deserve to include yourself in generosity.

I hope I'm not being too doomy/ose today.

I'm simultaneously working on improving my QoL so I'll live longer & preparing for when my health inevitably fails for good. Don't want to leave a big mess behind.

Could be years before it's needed. Just want to be prepared.

For those needing context: as of 2007¹ between 3.1 and 25 million pounds of antibiotics were given annually to us livestock via their feed, solely to promote the growth of said livestock. (i.e. NOT for medical reasons)

For me it's comfort food, games, art for the house, jewelry, and cool clothes (thrifted or from SCA & Renfaire garb makers).
It can be hard to take care of yourself when you've built your life around service and self sacrifice.

Given the state of my health, I've been forced to adopt a focus on my own quality of life.

What are some of your favorite indulgences? #NEISVoid
Given my health, I've been forced to adopt a focus on my own quality of life. Can't help others if I fall apart. So I'm trying to make my life more fun and exciting even when it costs money I would normally donate in community.

In moderation, of course. I still donate what I can, just not as much.

Racism aside, the problem with "it's not stolen, it's conquered" is that attitude is nothing but "killing you is an acceptable way to take your stuff" and I'm pretty sure that's bad. "I didn't steal your car, I conquered it" would, uh, not hold up at trial.

Only if you count lyrics, though, and maybe not even then. But it's the closest I have, I think.
6. What film do you think you could quote 50% of the dialogue while watching?

Anyone in the Seattle area want to hang out in person sometime? My DMs (and other communication methods if you know me) are open.

Being a hermit sucks. I need in person social time.

Unfortunately this would require wearing a mask indoors, though I can provide a sip valve if you want.

Between food allergies, eating disorders, & holiday trauma, a lot of us REALLY don't want to read/hear/see stuff on the subject, especially during food holiday season.

This is true of any ruminant whose diet is low enough in protein. There are videos on the internet of cows and goats casually snapping up baby chickens that happen to wander by. Ruminant molars are sharp enough to give you cuts like a scalpel, they can easily grind tiny birds.
When trapping small birds in nets for research, you have to get them out quick or the deer come and devour them.

If you and yours are sleepy after the big meal, part of it is (obviously) "big meal." But consider the air quality. Take a step outside, breathe deeply, and see if that perks you up. Not just "oh, outside is nice," I mean the ripping away of the veil over your brain.
