At least when it comes to livestock farms, this is just another way to prolong business as usual. The environmental, climate and health impacts of meat & dairy go far beyond their methane emissions, bad as these are. And using the microbes to produce yet more livestock feed is no genuine solution.
A much better solution would be for people to eat less meat, but as long as the ruminants are ruminanting this could be a practical way to make protein meal and fertilizer while lowering ag emissions.
These very hungry microbes devour a powerful pollutant
Microscopic organisms are being deployed to capture methane from sources such as farms and landfills, with the potential for reuse as fertilizer and fish food.

For those in any doubt, the ongoing nitrates derogation debate is not about the science on water quality, it's political wrangling, with our rivers, lakes and seas caught in the crossfire.

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

Personal hot take: it would have been much preferable if these talks *actually collapsed". The UNFCCC COP process is *manifestly* not fit for purpose and *must* be reformed. But with this "last ditch agreement" any prospect of reform has been stymied. Yet again.

I've found many dozens of studies & articles, like the one below, that confirm that the more we shift to plant-based diets, the bigger the environmental and health benefits (+ less harm to animals) - then add "no need to go fully vegan".
