I’m a middle school teacher. Planning does matter. You can make incremental changes that affect the odds in your favor. But if a shooter enters my building, I am going to die and there’s nothing I can do about it. All I’m doing is influencing how many people are dying with me. I hate thinking this.
Each semester I go in my classroom and I try to figure out what we would use to block the doors, if it would be safe to crawl out the windows, where we could hide if there was a mass shooter in campus. It’s such an indictment of this country how we have normalized these preventable tragedies.

Today my sister uncovered a story of my great-grandfather’s brother working on a railroad and getting blown 25 feet through the air by dynamite. He died from the wounds, but my dad never told this and countless other stories. His family’s past died with him.

I love this table, and I think we should go a step further and talk about a player’s annual luxury tax hit as a % of team revenue. Always gram everything in terms of how much these teams are making.

I am home with a cold and won’t be going anywhere for Thanksgiving. There is a very large part of me that is happy about that and would like to begin a full-on hermit phase. Normally that’s the depression talking, but everybody needs to dodge in the in-laws from time to time

The best part about Baldur’s Gate 3 is after a fight the grease puddle from the Grease spell is still there, so you can walk your party through it and they do this hilarious animation and slip and fall again and again and again. It’s never not funny

Some grim shit just happened in BG3. I laid waste to all the goblins, but at one point goblin kids attacked me. I used nonlethal to knock one out and the others ran away. Came back and this little dude is now all alone in the world…
